Provincial Air Quality Advisory in Effect
August 10, 2018
A precautionary air quality advisory remains in effect for all of Alberta due to wildfire smoke blowing into the province from British Columbia.
Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) readings for the entire RMWB are elevated, including ‘High Risk’ readings in the communities of Fort McMurray, Fort McKay and Fort Chipewyan. Residents should pay particular attention to the advisory, especially those who have respiratory conditions (such as COPD and asthma), and individuals with existing cardiovascular conditions (such as angina, previous heart attack and congestive heart failure).
