The Athabasca Valley Air Monitoring Station is a community station located on MacDonald Drive near MacDonald Island Park (Latitude, Longitude: 56.733392, -111.390501). This station became part of the WBEA's network in fall of 1997.
The Athabasca Valley station contains analyzers that continuously measure Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Total Reduced Sulphur (TRS), Nitric Oxide(NO), Total Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Total Hydrocarbons (THC), Non Methane Hydrocarbons (NMHC), Methane (CH4), Ozone (O3), Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5), Carbon Monoxide (CO), wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, relative humidity, and temperature. Time integrated sampling includes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) and Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) samplers.
